VIDEO - What is International Women's Day?
Some beautiful pieces of art popped up in the mall at school today in honour of International Women's Day.
The quilt (hanging by the stairs) was made by Year 9 students who printed and sewed portraits of women that inspire them. The time, effort and detail that has gone into this piece is amazing.
The artwork in the windows by our canteen was made by a Sixth Form student and represent a variety of women who hold different strengths not always associated with stereotypical femininity. Simply wonderful.
We are so lucky to have such talented and creative students here at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, thank you for sharing this wonderful artwork with our school community today.
To celebrate International Women's Day our school librarianMiss Griffiths has put together a wonderful display celebrating the lives of women and female authors.
