Year 8 student wins Young Person of the Year Award!

On Friday 16th June the Young Greenwich Awards Night took place at the University of Greenwich. This event is all about celebrating our young people’s achievements. There was a speech from a special guest in attendance Deputy Leader of Royal Greenwich Council, Averil Lekau about the role of youth services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The award ceremony then took place with young people winning awards for a number of different reasons including academic excellence, athletic achievement, community champion awards and much more.

The last award of the evening was given to one of our Year 8 students, Prince Michael as the young person of the year for his involvement with the Woolwich Common Youth Hub. Prince Michael was presented this award by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Dominic Mbang and Head of Youth Service, Jeanette Harrison.

A fantastic evening wonderfully supported by local businesses, families, friends, and the community.

On behalf of everyone at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys we are incredibly proud of Prince Michael for this achieving this amazing award.
