Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls 

We work in partnership with Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls to implement outstanding teaching and learning across the school. We also expect joint collaboration across the two schools in the extra-curricular and activities. This will include drama and musical performances where we will open our doors to the parents and carers of both schools.

We also have a strong relationship with the local primary schools. We have teachers who visit some of our local primaries on a regular basis to experience secondary school life before that part of their journey begins.

We believe these partnerships will make the education in Thamesmead stronger for all.

Woolwich Poly is part of the PiXL Club

PiXL (Partners in Excellence) is a not-for-profit partnership of over 1,600 secondary schools, 500 sixth forms, 600 primary schools, and 75 providers of alternative education. Together schools share best practice to raise standards and to give students a better future and brighter hope.

Founded by Sir John Rowling, PiXL emerged in 2005 from the school improvement programme, the London Challenge. When government funding for the initiative ceased, the 50 member schools at that time decided voluntarily to continue with its model of collaboration around leadership and shared resources. PiXL has since grown to become the largest network of schools in England and Wales.

With a focus on Key Stages 2, 4 and 5, each of PiXL’s tailored programmes provides a wealth of classroom strategies and resources and brings school leaders and specialists together at regular conferences to share ideas and support.

PiXL schools often collaborate and support each other, all with the purpose of raising standards.
